Obama Chose Biden

Obama chose Biden.....

Who will they choose?

Okay kids, aside from being an avid Olympics watcher (I'd like to give a shout out to Shawn Johnson who finally won a much deserved gold on the women's gymnasitcs beam), I am anxiously waiting to hear who the presumptive Presidential candidates will choose to add as vice presidents on their respective tickets..... Who will Obama pick? It is highly unlikely he will choose Senator Clinton, but a part of me wishes he would just for the fun of it. Who will McCain pick? I personally am holding out hope for a McCain/Romney ticket, only because I really got into Romney's campaign....anxiously watching results come in from major primaries and either celebrating with chips and salsa or pouting with rocky road ice cream. Anyway....Obama is rumored to announce his pick either Thursday or Friday, right before the start of the DNC (Democratic National Convention) and McCain is expected to make his announcement early next week. Stay tuned...

What a Summer!

As I begin to organize and pack in order to move back to Provo and begin another school year, I have looked back over my summer and thought, "What a summer!" And indeed it was.

I went to western Oregon, hit up the coast and the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

I went quading in the rain.

I turned 21.
I went to Washington D.C.

I went to Utah and also spent a day at Lagoon.

I went camping up at Wallowa Lake twice, which included kayaking and hiking.

I went to the Southern Oregon Coast with my family.

I went rafting on the Deschutes.

Just about every weekend was very busy for me! It made the summer go by quite quickly, I might say....

For the record...

Just to keep anybody who might be reading this updated, Randy and I broke up on Friday.

I feel kind of stupid having the last two posts about us and him, but the break up wasn't really expected. We just kind of talked ourselves into it, and ended it mutually.

Break ups suck, but I am sure it was the right thing to do.

WARNING: You might want to throw up a little bit.

Are you all tired of seeing pictures of me and Randy? I know my mom isn't, but anybody else? Fair warning, there are a lot of cheesy shots in this blog.

Well we made a trek up to Wallowa Lake again this past weekend. We were there Friday evening, Saturday all day, and left Sunday morning. Saturday was a full day! We rented bikes in Joseph and rode around in the morning, went on the tram and hiked around in the afternoon, waded into the lake and played a not very successful game of frisbee (but it was funny!) in the early evening, prepped and cooked our "tin foil dinners"/"hobo stew" (and the fire only took us about 15 minutes to start this time!), got some amazing ice cream cones, then rode around until after dark, where we then relit the fire and roasted some s'mores.

Sunday we made it back in time to go to my family's ward for church. Crystal Kevan was giving her "farewell" talk, and Chase Miller gave his "homecoming" talk. Crystal leaves this week to for the missionary training center, and then to New York City for 18 months! I am so excited for her. My mom also taught a really good lesson in Relief Society (the hour where all the women meet together by themselves). It was fun to sit in Relief Society with my mom, my aunt Steph, and my Grandma.

After church I ate breakfast for dinner with the Grandparents (my grandpa is home for a few days). I always like having dinner with the both of them. They are so funny to watch interact! I feel bad for Grandpa some times...we women in the family sure know how to nag! Then I went over to my mom's to start baking pies for a bbq/potluck Stephanie is hosting tonight because Grandpa is home and Mckinna and Ethan (my aunt Suci's kids) came with him. Randy came over and "helped" me, Riley and Mom. Good times! I love baking pies....at least when people are around to keep me company. It's been a busy weekend and I am still so tired....

My Little Quad Rider

So the Rand is down in Winchester Bay, Oregon, riding "quads," as any knowledgable four wheeler rider would call them, with his family. They are right on the beach and surrounded by the Oregon Dunes. Things have been so busy this week with work and the kids I hadn't really had time to miss him (is that so terrible?), until he sent me this picture....

I found him so studly and hot! Sheesh Rand, when do you get back???? :-)
